My name is Craig Casca and I was raised in the produce business. In 1939 my grandfather, Angelo Casca, started National Produce, Inc. in Miami, Florida. My dad, Sonny Casca, started working there after his military service. The company was a large produce wholesaler that handled all the different produce grown in the United States. We bought and sold apples, pears, onions, potatoes, grapes, summer fruit, lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, greens, melons, strawberries and mushrooms. When I was seven years old I started to go to the market with dad and load and unload trucks and rail cars. I worked every Saturday and Sunday during school weeks and every day during the summer. As time went by I learned how to inspect produce, how to take care of produce and how to buy and sell produce. I loved everything about the produce business. The fast pace and the changing markets have kept me hooked since childhood. I owe my dad so much for taking me to the market and teaching me so many of the things that are still pertinent in today's marketplace.

In 1984 I graduated from college and went to work at Movsovitz and Sons, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida. I started as a buying assistant and eventually worked as a dock and phone salesman. In 1985 I moved to California and went to work for the Mendelson-Zeller Company. I learned how produce was grown, packaged and sold from origination. This was a great experience because my previous knowledge was based on a destination viewpoint. I knew how arrivals were from National Produce and Mendelson-Zeller allowed me to round out my knowledge from the growing side of the business.

I opened ASG Produce, Inc. on July 22, 1991. The first thing I did was hire Patti Bills to run the accounting department. She has been with ASG from the start and her dedication to her job has been one of our greatest assets. Joanne Soto came on board soon after and she continues to handle all of our inventory, order entry, shipment confirmation and phone duties. Our daily business functions flow smoothly because of her continued commitment. In 2005 Jaime Stachler was hired to round out the sales desk. Jaime has been a great addition in all facets of our business and we are glad to have her on staff.

Our philosophy from the start has been to supply our customers with the finest quality produce at the right price on a daily basis. We ALWAYS fill previous commitments and people that do business with us will attest to this fact. This endeavor has been aided by the fine shippers ASG Produce, Inc. represents. Saticoy Berry Farms and Ronald Nunn Farms have been with us since our inception and they continue to supply the industry with the finest produce available today. Their willingness to adapt to the ever changing industry environment has made it easy for us to live up to our promises every day. We also sell strawberries for Red Blossom Farms. Red Blossom has product in Irvine, Santa Maria, Salinas and Watsonville. David Lawrence and I have established a great bond and we look forward to our future together. David is a class individual and Red Blossom's success is due to his and his growers' continued pursuit of excellence. Skip Foppiano has a great qualtiy green pepper deal in Stockton packed under the Henry's label. He has entrusted us to sell them and we strive to do a good job for him every season.

I am lucky to be involved with such great people.
